Oatmeal is a fabulous ingredient for your skin. It is a natural exfoliatant which is why it is a popular ingredient in many soaps and scrubs. Did you know that oatmeal is great for troubled skin too? If you have acne prone skin or other troubling issues, oatmeal can be a great item to try. It is good for dry skin too as it will help to add natural moisture balance back into your skin. Oatmeal is a great tiem for a mask as it will not dry your skin but will gently clean and remove impurities.
Honey has its place in the skin care hall of fame too! It is a lovely moisturizer and it is becoming more and more popular as an ingredient in skin care creams and lotions. As a natural ingredient, make sure to use a quality honey that is pure and natural. Many honeys on the grocery store shelves are not real honey any more! If you have skin that needs some TLC give this DIY mask a try. Oatmeal and Honey Masque Recipe 1/2 cup quick oats (oatmeal)
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice Combine all three ingredients in a small blender container and process until smooth. Cover container and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Remove and immediately apply to your face and neck area. Let mixture sit on your face for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. You might feel some tightening to your skin as it dries. Wash off and pat dry with a cotton towel. If you are in a real hurry, just toss the three ingredients together in a small bowl and immediately apply to your face. *tip if you have overly sensitive skin, dilute the lemon juice with 1/2 tsp water and 1/2 tsp lemon juice
