It’s been a long time since I started a crochet project. I used to crochet a lot and for whatever reason, I just got out of doing it.
I used to have a plan that I would read during spring and summer and in the fall and winter I would do my crochet projects. That way I would stay warm. Lol
I usually work on blankets just because I am not a very good crocheter. I’m self-taught so I don’t have great technique all the time. I’m very much into the ritual and the soothing part of crochet.
But this year I decided to find a project. Last weekend I ran over to Joann Fabric and I was looking for some beautiful yarn that would be easy to work with, was very soft, but yet affordable.
Some of the new yarns while absolutely gorgeous can be quite expensive to work with. On my slim budget, I was looking for something affordable and I found that with the Big Twist brand in the Shine product line. I’m pretty sure this is a Joann brand. It was on sale plus with the coupons, I got it for a nice discount.
Project: Blanket in V Stitch Double Crochet
So I’m working on an oversize throw. I like to be completely covered when I am snuggling, plus it gives the option to use it on a bed as an extra blanket.
I chose Sage Green and soft Silver as the accent. I will be working a V stitch with a double crochet and intermixing these two colors. I think they’re going to look really pretty together.
Let me know what you’re working on. I’ll be updating again as I figure out the pattern that I want to use and go from there.
I’m excited!
