If you’ve been listening to the news for the past three weeks, you’ve probably heard that the West Coast, particularly California, is on fire.
These massive fires are creating huge health issues for many of the residents here. Particularly small children and the elderly are at risk. I can only imagine what our firefighters go through being on the front lines. Whole cities are covered in smoke so bad that you cannot breathe and are warned about going outdoors.
Unfortunately, there does not look to be any sign in the near future of getting a handle on these fires. I live approximately one hour West of Yosemite National Park and for the most part where I live is a giant valley surrounded by mountains on two sides.
So what that means is the smoke from Yosemite fire and also the smoke from the fires in northern California, like the Redding area, all blows into the valley and gets trapped. Not a good situation.
So I’m just going to share a few pictures from Yosemite when it was a beautiful blue sky so that we can keep in our prayers 1). rain and 2). that are firefighters can stop the fires.
