Sometimes you come across a series of books that you really enjoy so much you cannot wait for the next one to publish. I reviewed book one last year and was excited to see this new story up for publication this month.

Combine a gorgeous setting, great characters, with a second-chance romance and you have a story that just grabs you and leaves you smiling. Read on for my full review.

OVERVIEW:
Bush pilot Bridget Shanahan runs from responsibility like a child runs from a dentist appointment, but when her brother leaves the family’s airfield in her hands, she knows it’s time to step up and behave like a Responsible Adult™. So of course that’s when Archer Ellison III blows into her tiny town of Captivity, Alaska, every inch the hot-as-hell mistake that most definitely belongs in her past. Been there, done that, and didn’t even get to keep the commemorative sweatshirt.

Archer has only ever had two goals. Now that he’s built his own empire outside his father’s company, he can move on to goal #2—winning back the one who got away by whatever means necessary. He knows it won’t be easy. Bridget Shanahan is older, wiser, more self-assured, and jaw-droppingly stunning…and doing everything she can to pretend the scorching chemistry between them doesn’t exist.

But fate is on his side. After an impulsive bet that would have sent Archer packing goes awry, Bridget is officially stuck with him. Which is really inconvenient, since falling for Archer again is the least responsible thing she could do.

Playing Dirty in Alaska by Samanthe Beck Review

I got to know many of the main characters from Book One, Wild in Captivity, a few months ago and definitely recommend reading that one before this edition for the best possible outcome.

There are so many awesome things happening in this story that for me, it really leveled up the series. For one, I really love how Archer was all in from the beginning. He was on a mission to change her mind and was patient and loving throughout.

Beck created Archer as the perfect balance for Bridget as she tried warming up to a second chance romance with the one that broke her heart. The delicate balancing act and subtle plays were written perfectly and added so much to the life of this story.

Beck is also not shy about putting the heat and steam right out there and the pages were simmering! I loved the intense connection between the two that showcased the fact they truly were supposed to be together.

A few twists and low angst made Playing Dirty in Alaska my favorite one so far in the series and I cannot wait for the next installment. We get a bit of a glimpse of who that will be about and I am excited!

5 Fab Stars!
