My husband and his family are all from Oklahoma City. So that means we visit there often and even though he’s from there we always take the time to do some sightseeing too.
One of the places we enjoyed visiting is the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. It has moved from its old location downtown and is now in a brand-new beautiful building that’s perfect for showcasing the amazing art and history of our country.
Loaded with amazing Western art, you can spend hours in this cool museum. Not just for guys as there are plenty of Western depictions women will love as well.
Giant cast-iron and bronzes decorate both the outside and the inside. The gates coming into the museum are striking. The amazing metal art that runs along the side of the building is fabulous and you can just envision the horses running wild through the fields. And this is only one portion of the art piece!
We spent hours in this museum and each time you go it seems there’s more to see with different displays that tells the story of the old west. Definitely something to put on your list to see next time you visit Oklahoma City
