When you’re working on getting fit sometimes it’s hard to see the results on a daily basis. That’s why so many people take photos and then compare them to a few months ago or to when they first started on their fitness journey. I have the same issue because my work in progress is a combination of losing weight and becoming stronger through fitness.
It’s easy to get discouraged when you are on a plateau so I try to keep myself motivated by using fitness trackers. There’s a few that I use and through the combination of the three, I can keep track of my daily movement and walking. So here are my favorite trackers that are free or very affordable so they won’t break the bank!
My Favorite Affordable Fitness Trackers
I had a Fitbit and for some reason it never set up properly for me. Could be user error, who knows, but I did get a new tracker for Christmas and it’s actually awesome. It’s called the i5 Plus and it is super affordable.
What I like about this one is not only does it keep track of your steps and your goals, but you also get notifications through it such as social media notices, text notices, and phone calls, which are all very cool because you can see who’s calling or texting so you don’t always have to pick up your phone. It also has a notification when you have been sitting too long. I love that! Plus, it’s waterproof which is a huge thing for me. I can wear it swimming!
The i5 Plus comes with a free app that you download onto your phone. While not as in-depth as a Fitbit, you can track and get some history of your walking. Plus, I love that it is all in one. There is no additional charging cords. It is all in one piece! The only downfall to that is that it is a bit taller while sitting on your wrist. However, for the price, it is a decent tracker.
I also use step counter on my phone called Stepwise. I love this one because it gives you your history and your steps and allows you to start a trip. So, for instance, if I was going to take a walk, then I just hit the button and it will track that specific trip. You also get the overall history of the day and I love the weekly numbers too. It gives me the history from day one.
The third one I use I have talked about before, and that is MyFitnessPal. I use this one to track all of my food, and also my exercising and steps. That way any exercising that I do will convert into the calories burned for my food intake. MyFitnessPal is a super tool for watching what you eat. I love it.
While I maybe weird by using three different fitness trackers, it works for me. I did love my Fitbit but it did no good for me if it didn’t load onto my phone for the tracking and history. I did give it to my son and for some reason it’s working for him, but that’s good because now he is more focused on his food and activity. And the Fitbit is a great choice but they can be a bit pricey.
The three that I have here are super affordable. The i5 Plus is like $28 on Amazon. Plus most smart phones have walking counters in them as well. MyFitnessPal is hooked up to my phone step counter, so if you’re looking for affordable ways to track your fitness, here’s a great start.
Oh, and BTW, using three step trackers you would think they would be off a bit on their counts, but they are all exactly the same…. curious but cool!
These are my favorite fitness trackers to use. Share with me the ones do you use and why you love it. I would love to see if there are better options out there.
