Love on Lexington Avenue by Lauren Layne: Review

Love on Lexington Avenue by Lauren Layne - review

I was lucky enough to be able to read and the first book in this fun series a few months ago. Passion on Park Avenue introduced us to a small group of friend that met is a most unusual way – at the funeral of a husband. The widow and his two mistresses have formed a great bond and we get the read all about them!

Funny, witty, and full of romance, this new release is book two and one not to be missed! Read my thoughts below

ABOUT:
There are no good men left in New York City. At least that’s Claire Hayes’s conviction after finding out her late husband was not the man she thought he was. Determined to rid her home of anything that reminds her of her cheating husband, Claire sets out to redesign her boring, beige Upper East Side brownstone and make it something all her own. But what starts out as a simple renovation becomes a lot more complicated when she meets her bad-tempered and rough-around-the-edges contractor Scott Turner.

Scott bluntly makes it known to Claire that he only took on her house for a change of pace from the corporate offices and swanky hotels he’s been building lately, and he doesn’t hesitate to add that he has no patience for a pampered, damaged princess with a penchant for pink. But when long workdays turn into even longer nights, their mutual wariness morphs into something more complicated—a grudging respect, and maybe even attraction…

Love on Lexington Avenue by Lauren Layne Review

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so when book two came out, I knew I had to read this one too!

I love the main premise of the female characters. A widow and her late husband’s mistresses become best friends and support each other through love and life. A fabulous premise and the result is a witty, clean romance that is fresh and delightful!

Love on Lexington Avenue is all about the widow… Claire. I was actually surprised that she was next in line. I thought she would be the last featured, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Claire is very vanilla in all ways, especially in her dull home and life. She desperately needs a home remodel and Scott is recommended by her good friend’s boyfriend. The connection is a collection of funny, snarky, sweet, a sweaty moments that takes you by surprise.

A beautifully written clean romance that completely captures your attention and totally delivers the goods. A perfect fit for any reader of romance. Layne is master at her crafts and a must read for the chick lit lovers of the world.
