OVERVIEW:
Julie Tudor is not a psychopath.

Julie Tudor is 49 and has it all: a fantastic job (well-maintained spreadsheets are the lynchpin of an efficient office), a beautiful house (some may wonder how she got the money for it, but nothing has been proved) and the man of her dreams.

Julie Tudor is not a stalker.

Sean is 25 and the love of Julie’s life. The only problem is, he thinks he’s in love with someone else.

And Julie Tudor is definitely, definitely not a serial killer.

But Julie has found herself in a similar situation before. And if there’s one thing Julie knows, it’s how to get rid of the competition…

After all, what’s a little murder in the name of true love?

Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath by Jennifer Holdich Review

Not every book is going to resonate with the reader. That’s why there are so many genres and sub-genres within books today. There’s no way an author can satisfy every reader. And that’s okay.

I picked up this book by a new author for review. I was expecting a quirky murder mystery with some humor in the story because so many people have said this book is humorous. But the further I got into the story, the more I realized I was not getting any of that.

The author tells us a story of infatuation. But the twist is that the woman truly is psychotic. There’s no actual mystery here, but we do get several different timelines of back stories that build into the current mental state of the woman.

The author attempts to paint a picture of someone we should feel sorry for, but the reality is that this lady is weird and broken. There is no humor. There was no lightness in the story at all. In fact, I found this to be a very dark novel.

She is a stalker and a straight-up murderer, removing people from the life of the man she loves. But there are darker pieces here as well; animals, and the destruction of people’s entire world.

One thing is for certain. People enjoy what they enjoy. This story was not for me because I look for something that makes me feel good and engaged with the characters and story when I’m done reading. Some people found it humorous. I found it twisted. What am I missing??

Ultimately, that’s up to the reader to decide. Did the author do a great job writing Julie Tudor Is Not a Psychopath? Absolutely. Many found it humorous and awesome. That’s why I gave it the rating I gave. Just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a book you would enjoy.
