How to Break Out of an Exercise Slump

How to Break Out of an Exercise Slump

It’s funny how people are such creatures of habit. I had my routine down pat when I was working out of the house and working in the house half-and-half.

Now that everything has been at home for these past 5-6 months, I am so out of my routine that it’s really starting to impact me.

One of the issues is that I’m working so much more. My normal teaching commitment was 20 hours a week. Now, more often than not, it’s about 25 to 30 hours a week easy. Just because it’s so much more work to do things completely online.

That really has begun to impact the amount of time to exercise. Frankly, I have completely lost the desire to exercise and that scares me.

I feel like a lost cause. The further and further away I get from my plan and my goals the worse I feel. I don’t think there’s any coming back to where I was and I think that’s really what’s holding me back.

I can’t get motivated. I got out of the routine of swimming daily because of my schedule. And now the weather is changing. Plus with all the fires here my pool is ashy and looks gross.

And as I’m talking to you about this it’s all just a bunch of excuses. But I don’t know how to break through and move forward.

Maybe I need a coach. I don’t know what to do anymore. I keep thinking about just doing some of my DVDs or doing a dance video and I haven’t even done that.

HELP!

How do you move forward when you feel like you’ve lost hope? Have you ever felt this way and if so, what did you do to get out of the slump?
