How Forever Feels is a sweet tale about the one that got away . . . and the one that came back.

Maya McKay’s heart is as big as Jack Rhodes’s shoulders are broad. Their chemistry is out of control, but it could never work between them because Jack is more than just best friends with her cheating ex-husband—they’re like brothers. Maya, the sensitive, practical florist, has given up on love and is ready to settle for like. But now that Jack’s around again, he’s stirring up old feelings—and turning Maya’s fantasies into irresistible reality.

Jack blew his chance with Maya years ago when he stepped aside for his best friend, Will, and he’s still kicking himself about it. Maya was promised forever once before, and she got burned. But when Jack realizes that second chances aren’t going to fall out of the sky, he seizes the moment—and the woman he’s always loved—to show her how forever truly feels.

My Thoughts:
Every once in a while, I enjoy picking up a light-hearted story that is a quick and easy read. This new release comes only in e-book format and made for an entertaining evening.

This was the first book I have read by this author so I was excited to see what she has to offer. Knowing that this was book 4 in a series, I was expecting to be a bit lost, but you are quickly introduced to the gal pals and the subjects of the other books. This is a stand alone read but one that makes you want to go back and pick up the other books too.

The author does a great job with the character development and the love interest between the 2 main characters, Maya and Jack. You know they are right for each other, but getting Maya to realize it was a struggle and tiptoeing through their friendship was agonizing at times. You did get to know a lot about Jack and his background, which is heartbreaking.

I wanted to really fall for Jack but I had a hard time with the fact that he was written as somewhat weak. He was overwhelmed with guilt about caring for Maya and his dedication to his foster family, who have screwed him over in the past. It took the whole book for him to finally get his act together. Maya annoyed me in that she was quick to judge Jack when a huge secret came out and she blamed him for not telling her.

Overall, the book was entertaining and fun. I did enjoy many parts of it and was pleased with the happy ever after ending. There was a spark between the two that was missing for me to bring this to a must-read status. But it is a sweet read that you will enjoy for a lovely getaway from it all.
