A few years ago I decided to plant a few citrus bushes on my side yard. I chose the dwarf trees thinking that they would stay a dwarf. However, they have kind of taken over the world this winter.
With all of the rain from last year, plus a mild summer that was not too hot, these citrus plants are thriving.
The other day I went inside to grab a few lemons and the oranges were out of control. This picture is after I picked a bunch! Actually, all of the citrus are out of control. Not that I’m complaining as these are great for adding to juice blends and even sharing with friends and family.
I love being able to walk to my side yard to get a fresh lemon or lime for my water. Now I just need to cut them back after harvest so I can control them next year, hopefully.
Do you grow any crops in your backyard or home? I’ve tried in the past and these seem to be the only thing that has thrived. So I am happy about that.
