I love hot cocoa, especially when it is chilly outside. My favorite way to enjoy it is when I mix a bit of the cocoa with my coffee instead of cream and sugar. My homemade Cafe Mocha is always a hit around here! But in order to make that I need to share the recipe I have used to make my own cocoa mix.
This recipe is super simple, with just a few ingredients. And you can even jar it for gift giving too!
Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered milk
pinch of salt
Mini Marshmallows, optional
Cinnamon, optional
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients together until well combined. Store the mixture in a mason jar or plastic sealed container. Mix well before serving.
To make the cocoa:
Warm 1 cup of 2% milk in a sauce pan bringing it to a steaming temperature. Do not boil. In a mug add 1/3 cup of the mix and pour the milk over it, mixing until well combined. Top with mini marshmallows, if desired.
Enjoy!
