I love to visit the Mountains. In fact, I truly have to wonder sometimes if I am a mountain girl or a water girl. I enjoy them both for different reasons.
Living where I do in the valley of California, I am able to travel often to the mountains and Yosemite National Park is located about 75 minutes east of me. It is so easy to get there, I am not sure why I don’t visit more often.
Several years ago my hubby and I went up there in February, I have to say the sun in the park in the winter is like no other time. The brilliance of the light on the granite rock is sparkling and it casts some amazing colors that you must see.
The only problem with visiting in the winter is the cold weather, likely snow which means road and park closures, and the short days. Plus you have to hope for a sunny day too.
Even with all of that in play, if you do luck out like we did, it is fantastic to see. I am definitely missing visiting there in the winter and need to plan an outing soon!
Here are a few pictures that I hope you enjoy! Hidden Lake and Yosemite Chapel
