I’ve always had dry facial skin. Now that I’m aging, it seems to really be an issue. Actually, all of my skin is very dry right now with the winter cold ending.
Drinking plenty of water plays a big part in keeping the skin hydrated. But I also have to add additional moisturizer for my face and lotion for my body.
Beauty Basics for Menopausal Skin
Last year I told you about giving up all of the expensive creams that were loaded with chemicals and God knows what that we put on our face. I went back to the simple facial creams that our mothers and grandmothers Used. Some of them are still around if you look. I love to keep the beauty basics as simple as possible.
Target offers just simple Oil of Olay creams in a jar or lotion in a bottle that don’t have a lot of the fancy stuff. There are other brands as well such as Nivea, Ponds, Noxzema, and similar. I am sure other retailers offers them too. Look on the bottom shelves!
In fact, I did an internet search for old-school skincare and vintage skin care and a lot of the articles brought up some other great items that I had forgot about.
The fact is I’m happy with my skin. I don’t like putting a lot of crap on it and my face seems to be happy using just a simple Oil of Olay night cream as my moisturizer. Plus, drinking plenty of water is helping too!
Next time I run out I think I’m going try Nivea. I love Nivea on my body so I’m not sure why I haven’t picked up a container for my face. My mother used it forever and had amazing skin. I seem to have her skin.
What do you use on your face for this post menopausal dryness that we have to deal with on a daily basis?
