Awesome Deal of the Day

Couple years ago I’m sure you heard that many of the Kmart’s closed down. I know the one in my town did. However, there is one that is still open about 30 miles away from us.

We really enjoyed Kmart for a couple of different reasons. The main one was that I was able to get many of my husbands casual clothes there. He’s a big and tall guy and he likes the way some of their clothes fit him.

So the other day we took a trip up there to check out the store. As we are walking through the aisles there on an endcap I spied this fabulous deal. A cast-iron enamel stock pot made by Kenmore. Sometimes they call it a dutch oven because it can go in the oven up to 450.

Now I have been wanting one of these for a long time but the price was just too prohibitive so I never got one. This price – oh my gosh. A total steal! Would you believe me if I told you it was $29? Regularly $70, I believe. It was a fabulous steal.

This is a 5.5 quart stock pot and is just right for my size family. Which is basically myself and my husband, most meals.

They had some really pretty colors as well. I got this amazing red one which is almost like a deep maroon. So perfect. They also had black, blue, yellow, and I think white. Not for sure about the white one though.

So I had to cook something in it today and it was perfect for the chicken that I cook my dogs for their food. More about that in a future post. A whole chicken fit in there perfectly, and I have to say, I’m in love with this pot. With the lid on and slightly cracked, hardly any liquid left this pot. It cooked it perfectly.
