I still remember the first Emma Chase novel I read. It seems like it was yesterday and yet she has gone on to write so many wonderful books in the past few years she has been on the romance scene. She has a true talent for writing funny scenes with likeable characters you want to know. I simply cannot miss one of her stories. I am so excited to share my review of the newest novel in her Legal Briefs series.

The New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled books returns with the third romance in the Legal Briefs series, a collection of sexy novels about first crushes, second chances, and the final verdict of the heart.
When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate—and prized—parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Louboutins.
When Kennedy looks at Brent, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue–worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school in order to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell for her.
But she’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore—she’s a Washington, DC, prosecutor with a long winning streak. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case, and Kennedy thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.
But things aren’t exactly working out the way she planned. Brent has his sights set on Kennedy, and every fiery exchange only makes him want her more—and makes her wonder if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. In the end, they may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.
My Thoughts about Appealed
One of the first things that strikes me about an Emma Chase novel is that it is mainly told from the guys point of view. I cannot tell you how much I love that strategy in a book. I love the funny, dry, straightforward humor and view point of the story, right from the guys mouth. It completely changes the perspective of the book and I just love that.
I love Brent, that cocky brat, and watching him crumble at the sight of Kennedy is worth this read by itself. But add in the fact the Kennedy has been mad at him for 14 yrs and suddenly you have a hot romance with the push/pull of emotion that gives you the major feels.
Emma Chase knows how guys think and this book is just another one of her masterpieces. Straight simple fact…. This woman knows how to write a story that is so full of breathtaking moments and heartfelt emotion, it will leave an impression on you not soon forgotten. Just thinking about this book makes me smile. And the ending….OMG! It will bring tears to your eyes. This book is one big Sigh!
Steamy, sexy, and hot as hell, you have to read this book! Can I say it was my favorite Emma Chase novel? I can’t decide yet, but it is pretty damn close! Regardless, it is definitely a 5 star read!
