I love reading a Kate Bateman historical romance. She easily blends the style of the time with the spice and heat needed to kick it up a few notches. There is no chance you will be bored reading these stories!

With a new book coming up, I was able to grab a copy for review. Here are my thoughts on this upcoming release.

OVERVIEW:
A teasing bet.

Shipwrecked and imprisoned thanks to an incorrect map, Captain Morgan Davies has returned to London to exact sweet revenge on the cartographer responsible for his suffering. He’s also vowed to claim the winner’s prize―three kisses―in the bet he made with his long-time nemesis, the prickly, smart-mouthed Harriet Montgomery. His incarceration has clarified his feelings for her, but convincing the infuriating woman he wants to marry her is going to be his greatest challenge yet. When Harriet’s revealed to be the very mapmaker he seeks, Morgan decides to combine revenge and seduction into one delightful package. . .

A dangerous enemy.

Harriet’s always wanted witty scoundrel Morgan, and now he’s back; as handsome and as taunting as ever. She has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s failing eyesight and a rival mapmaker copying her work to play wicked games with a dastardly Davies―however tempting he might be. But when a threat from Morgan’s past puts them both in danger, Harry discovers that she and Morgan might not be enemies at all

A Wicked Game by Kate Bateman Review

This story is one delicious treat for the senses! Bateman ups the ante when it comes to heat and spice in this tasty recipe for success.

The setting is perfect; the theme is unique and interesting. This is no cookie-cutter story! Family rivals always make for a delicious story and this one has it all. The fact it is part of a series has no bearing on this one as it is easy to follow and you can happily read the other stories.

Bateman created her main two characters with spunkiness and fun. The heat and tension are rolling off in waves that effectively beg you to not stop reading.

A perfect blend of everything we love in a historical romance, A Wicked Game is one not to be missed!
