I don’t know if I told you but my dad passed away this month. He was 89 years young and had been in lockdown Assisted Living style since March. He hated it.
Then a worker contracted Covid and passed it to him. He in turn passed it to my Uncle and Aunt who also live in the same facility.
Dad passed away in his sleep and 10 days later my uncle did as well. My aunt has recovered and is doing fine.
So how can I say have a blessed Thanksgiving? Because they both lived rich and blessed lives. They gave to the community and their country in many different ways.
After my mom passed away, I was able to have a different relationship with my Dad. We enjoyed our conversations and got to know each other on a different level. I am blessed to have had him for so many years. Many are not given that blessing.
So enjoy your family and the time you have with them. Give thanks for the little things, like those conversations with someone who has dementia and says that same thing 5 times or tells the same stories again and again. Maybe they call you 3-7 times a day. Answer the phone and listen to the conversation like it was the first time. Soon they will be in the past.
Always be thankful and know you are indeed blessed with many things you don’t even realize!
I am so thankful for you!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I am sorry to hear about your Dad passing Chris….your words are very true.
I have a strained relationship with my father and often wonder if I should grit my teeth & try to spend more time with him.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Joy

Thank you, Joy. It is a tough situation to be in, but time is ticking away and regret is a terrible thing. I hope you can find a happy median.
Hope your holiday was great!
