Since the colder weather is here the time I can spend in my pool is extremely limited. I can’t afford to heat the thing every day and I really haven’t committed to going to a gym every day either. So what I’ve been doing is supplementing with walking, which I should be doing anyway.
My Difficulty With Walking Shoes
I am having difficulty though. I have such a hard time with shoes. I know that sounds like a strange thing, but I have what I call “men’s feet”. They’re wide and long so I end up having to hunt for shoes that fit properly.
If I try wearing women’s shoes, then I need to find wide ones and they’re very difficult to find other than special order. If I wear men shoes, then they may end up not fitting properly.
I’ve ended up with terrible blisters the last two pair of shoes that I tried to walk in. It is so uncomfortable that I have to wear flip-flops or backless tennis shoes. The problem with that is all of my backless shoes are too big for my feet since I’ve lost weight. LOL
It’s quite a dilemma having to go through and find proper shoes. I’ve been walking in my Crocs flip-flops lately and while they are not the perfect solution, it will have to do until I can find the right shoes for me.
I’ve also thought about getting some of those hiking sandals that are made for walking. I used to have a pair of many years ago and wore the heck out of them. The problem is now they’re $100 but then I guess any shoe of quality is that price nowadays.
So anyway my Crocs flip-flops will have to do for now while I am hunting for the right shoe. They do offer good support so whatever it takes to get my exercise in and continue building muscle is what is going to happen.
How do you deal with finding the right kind of walking shoes?
