I have been juicing for over a year now and when I speak to people about juicing, many are confused as to what it actually means. So I thought that would be a great post to share today where I explain the difference between juicing and blending.
The Difference Between Juicing and Blending
Everyone is heard of or has seen a juicer and you probably have a blender in your kitchen. Have you ever tried to make juices in a blender? As you may have found, it’s not always the easiest task, especially if you using thick ingredients, such as fruits and things like that.
A blender works well to actually blend and combine several ingredients together. But when you use a blender to try and juice something, all it is doing is combining those ingredients. But if you use an actual juicer, the juicer works to extract all of the nutrients and goodness in that vegetable or fruit. During the extraction process, every part of the veggie or fruit is completely broken down.
Not All Juicers are Alike
Know this – Not all juicers are alike! Some juicers leave residual pulp but that Pulp is extremely good for you and it is part of what you need to be ingesting.
So when you look at juicers like the NutriBullet or the Ninja, those are actually extractors that completely break down everything and give you all of the nutrients that is in that fruit or vegetable that you need, with no residual pulp or anything left in the cup. So it’s breaking down the cell walls giving you the vitamins and minerals that it has to offer. You get every bit of that nutrient with no waste and a beautiful juice that is loaded with the goodness you need.
With the ability to absorb every nutrient, every bit of fiber, every bit of the antioxidants, Omega fatty acids, and phytonutrients too, you can get the highest amount of nutrition that the food as to offer your body. You can extract fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and the skin of the item for the most benefit. It leaves a liquid, that when combined with other fruits and vegetables, is easily digestible and very absorbable into your body.
So now that you know the difference between juicing and blending, you can just imagine the benefits of juicing. But that is a topic for another post.
