Tamed by Dr. Rebecca Sharp: Review

It’s interesting to watch the processes as a book evolves through a story. Taking wounded or traumatized individuals and evolving them into someone who can accept and grow with love was an interesting process in this book.

This is the first read for me of this author’s works, and I was intrigued by her story, the passion, and the ultimate outcome. Check out my complete thoughts below on this upcoming release.

I’ve read several books now by authors who have featured indigenous people, especially women, in their books. It always shocks me: the data, the details, and the sheer number of people affected by serious crimes with little resolution.

This book feels a little disjointed to me because we have serious crimes of murder, missing women, and other criminal activity that our main female character, Savanna, is directly working on as a police officer, and personally involved as a resident or family member.

We then have the romance between a private investigator, Creed, who comes to look for information on a missing girl within Savanna’s jurisdiction. From the beginning, you can feel the instant attraction and the heat building.

The romance is absolute fire, but it’s also not without understanding trauma and learning how to break down barriers in order to completely connect with someone. Both of these characters are carrying trauma, and together they learn to lean on each other.

The murder investigations feel like a separate entity because there are big gaps of time where the author focused purely on the main characters as they consume each other. The crime scenes are graphic and intense. Feelings and emotions are raw. The reader is intensely involved too.

Overall, Tamed is a passionate, fiery book on both sides of the story that will tug at your heartstrings and your emotions.
