Who doesn’t love a good Christmas romance? I could read them all year round, and sometimes, I do!
The overview of this book called to me when I was pitched this one, and I was coming off a long book, so it was perfect timing. With fall on the way, it’s time to get in the groove.
A new author to check out, and this holiday romance with a murder mystery twist. Read my review below.
The Doc’s Christmas Miracle by S. A. Stolin
ISBN-13: 9781509262816
Publisher: Wild Rose Press
Publication date: 12/01/2025
OVERVIEW:
Dr. Mark Moore arrives at Crescent Hill’s Alzheimer’s clinic determined to redeem his shattered reputation with one final trial of his controversial memory machine. What he doesn’t count on is Dr. Susan Pace—a brilliant, infuriating psychiatrist who sees right through him. She’s a distraction he can’t afford…but every heated glance, every late-night argument, makes her harder to resist. And as his machine begins to unlock haunting truths, Mark realizes he may be risking more than his career.
Susan Pace has no time for reckless charm or risky science—especially not from the man threatening her clinic, her patients, and her mother’s fragile mind. But when a single touch leaves her breathless, she knows she’s in trouble. The closer she gets to Mark, the more her defenses crumble.
As Christmas lights twinkle and a buried secret surfaces, someone is watching—someone willing to kill to keep the past hidden. And Mark and Susan might be next.
The Doc’s Christmas Miracle by S. A. Stolin Review
This story was a bit different the further I got into it. It became more of a drama with the main female lead hating the male lead from the beginning.
The plot was solid and interesting, but I did have some issues with the story flow. It felt like some time leaps were occurring, and there were some holes that could be developed deeper for a better connection between the two. It felt like the growing “like” between them was more like insta-love. It was a bit awkward.
The murder mystery was blended into the story, and it was a welcome addition. It added depth and a bit of suspense. The Alzheimer’s angle is interesting and well developed, along with the secondary characters.
Overall, The Doc’s Christmas Miracle is a solid and engaging story, but I wanted a deeper connection between them. I feel so much of the romance development was neglected. Plus, I think a good editor can really help the flow, time jumps, and holes in the story.
