Christmas Is All Around by Martha Waters: Review

book cover for Christmas Is All Around by Martha Waters

I was introduced to this author through reviews of her Regency historical romance series and I have to say I love her stories! They are fun and swoon-worthy and not a typical historical romance. I have read 5 of her 6 novels. I don’t know how I missed one, so I need to take care of that quickly!!

This is Waters first contemporary romance and I loved it just as much! Check out my thoughts below.

OVERVIEW:
Charlotte hates the holidays. As a former child actress, she starred in a modern classic of a holiday movie, and its fans won’t let her move on. When a piece reveals that her reluctance nixed plans for a reboot, she flees to London to spend the five-week countdown to the holidays with her sister.

But the ghosts of Christmas past follow her there when she ends up at Eden Priory, a filming location for the movie she has never visited. There, after being recognized by a fan while viewing the extraordinary holiday decorations, she’s accidentally left behind, forcing her to accept a ride back to London from Graham, the son of the owners. Their family business—and the funds to keep their historic house running—relies on holiday cheer, and Graham knows a visit from a holiday star would bring in more visitors.

Now an illustrator, Charlotte accepts a commission illustrating iconic holiday movie scenes in London and its environs. Graham offers to help escort her, as long as she’ll commit to an art workshop at Eden Priory. But as Charlotte’s chaotic family holiday goes awry, she begins spending more time scouting locations with Graham. She may not love a Christmas romance…but what if she has one of her own?

Christmas Is All Around by Martha Waters Review

One of the things I love about this author is that she comes up with the best storylines. They are completely unique and do not have a recycled theme. Waters is an amazing storyteller and I never hesitate to grab her books!

This story is a blend of fun and witty conversations and actions found throughout the book. Her characters are memorable and hilarious especially when we meet the reason for birth control, her niece!

The female main character is a bit strong minded when it comes to anything Christmas, because of her past and family ties, so experiencing Christmas in England has her screaming a bit inside.. and maybe a few times outside too!

The male main character is a surprising treat to her vacation and a delightful addition to balancing out Charlotte. Their banter is awesome and their growing romance is sweet, swoony, and steamy.

Christmas Is All Around is a Christmas story that will become a memorable part of your holiday romances. Definitely not one to be missed. I hope that Waters continues to write her historical romances and now her contemporary romances as well. She excels at both and I now have a new genre to follow of hers!

4 STARS!!
