I thought I would give you a little update on where I am with this blanket that I am crocheting.
It’s been a couple of weeks and while I don’t crochet every day I have been trying to make a dent in this baby. It’s quite a large blanket because I like to be able to wrap myself up completely. Plus, I have tall men in my family.
Update on V-Stitch Crochet Blanket Project
So I think it’s coming out pretty nicely. I love the stitch. It’s simple, it’s fast, but yet it gives a nice pretty design to the blanket. This is a double crochet in a V stitch.
One thing that is slowing me down a tad is the yarn. I’m using the Big Twist Shine brand from JoAnn Fabrics. It tends to separate just a little bit and that causes my hook to catch and pull in a strand or two that doesn’t belong.
Strangely enough, it is the green that is doing it. The silver color of this product does not separate as easily.
However, I love the two colors together. The silver really isn’t silver when it’s blended with this green. It kinda looks like oatmeal and I really love it.
The weight of the yarn itself is just right. It’s not super chunky that will cause static on your clothes so I think this is a perfect weight. Not too heavy or too light.
I’m going to try and get this finished within the next few weeks and hopefully be able to get out a second one for a friend’s gift for Christmas. We’ll see how that goes!!
