I have been reading The Brotherhood series for a few years now. And I have to tell you that there are some hard-core followers of the series and this author!
What I love about this series is that each book can be read as a first book, for the most part. While yes, there is a lot of integration into the story from the other brothers and other books, you can, however, totally enjoy the story too. Trust me you’ll want to go back and read them in order after you are done.
I was excited to be asked to review this brand new release. Here are my thoughts.
The Sinner by J.R. Ward
Series: The Black Dagger Brotherhood series (Book 18)
Publisher: Gallery Books (March 24, 2020)
ISBN-13: 978-1501195099
ABOUT:
Syn has kept his side hustle as a mercenary a secret from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. When he takes another hit job, he not only crosses the path of the vampire race’s new enemy, but also that of a half-breed in danger of dying during her transition. Jo Early has no idea what her true nature is, and when a mysterious man appears out of the darkness, she is torn between their erotic connection and the sense that something is very wrong.
Fate anointed Butch O’Neal as the Dhestroyer, the fulfiller of the prophecy that foresees the end of the Omega. As the war with the Lessening Society comes to a head, Butch gets an unexpected ally in Syn. But can he trust the male—or is the warrior with the bad past a deadly complication?
With time running out, Jo gets swept up in the fighting and must join with Syn and the Brotherhood against true evil. In the end, will love true prevail…or was the prophecy wrong all along?
The Sinner by J.R. Ward: A Black Dagger Brotherhood Book Review
This is the story of Syn and Jo. It’s also a story of war and despair. And a story of hope and love.
It’s hard to dive into the review and only tell you bits and pieces of the story. So let me just say that this is yet one more piece of the entire series that makes it so freaking addictive!
Syn is a soft hearted guy deep down. He has not always been a good person and he recognizes his faults. But when he and Jo meet he recognizes some thing inside. Some thing pure and wholesome that makes him look at the world differently. Yearning for something more he doesn’t believe he deserves.
I don’t want to spoil this awesome read for you. What I will say is that Ward has an amazing imagination and a talent beyond anyone in this genre.
The Sinner is gruesome but very bad ass at the same time. Full of love and appreciation for each other, these characters are just a perfect example of true friendship. They truly are brothers and a wonderful blend of family.
An amazing story of caring, compassion, and a deep connected love. An explosive story you simply cannot miss!!
