I have been without an office chair for a few years now that I think about it. My son moved out last year and gave me a hand me down chair that was literally a piece of junk. I threw it in the garbage!
So I have been using a dining room chair that is so not comfortable. My neighbor has a business where he buys overstock items for big companies and sells them. This past weekend he had a huge garage sale and I spied a balance ball office chair, well stool really. He had it all put together so I gave it a try.
I thought it was going to be hard and uncomfortable but I was wrong so I grabbed it at a steal of a price. I have been using it for my office chair now and I have to say it does take some getting used to. But getting a workout during office hours is a great perk!
My Every Day Workout With a Balance Ball Office Stool
One of the first things I noticed was that my inner things would ache. I know that is due to the unnoticeable movements you must make to stay on the ball.
After a few hours my butt does start to hurt a bit too. While I know that this is something I have to get used to, it also prompts me to get up and walk around a bit every so often.
I can really feel my core tense and tighten up as I am working. I love to perch on my chair anyway so for me this is perfect. No back to lounge against so it can be a big change for someone.
